Hi, I'm CHARLIE

Sounds kind of strange doesn’t it, owning your own time. BUT have you ever felt like the day ‘just got away’ and you didn’t get half of what you thought you would done?

I’ve even said this recently in my morning gym sessions with my bestie, if we’re there at 5.35 until 6.30 – how are we only getting 30 minutes of cardio done? Like actually still I can’t figure it out, and we don’t stand around chatting.

We all want more time right. It’s the most valuable commodity in the world, it’s actually priceless. You cannot buy it.

What if you could buy back some of your time? And still be incredibly focused, perhaps even more so and more productive?

I’d love to introduce you to the Pomodoro Technique – my new obsession and the reason I am finally making time to write again.

‘The Pomodoro Technique is a time management system that encourages people to work with the time they have—rather than against it. Using this method, you break your workday into 25-minute chunks separated by five-minute breaks. These intervals are referred to as pomodoros.

You may have heard of time blocking – if you haven’t read here.

Time blocking works in…you guessed it blocking your time. As studies have shown we has humans cannot have 100 tabs open and switch easily between tasks. In fact having all these tabs open and to do’s in your mind, and switching tasks show that you are consuming more energy (no wonder you’re tired at 12pm) and are not focused, therefore not giving your best to any of the tasks you’re trying to do.

I have started using the PD, as a creative I’ve altered mine to 50 minutes then a 10 minute break (because I like to get in flow).

I have found;

  1. I am more focused.
  2. I can give my energy and attention to the task at hand, therefore making less errors.
  3. The time goes SO fast.
  4. At the end of the day I don’t have to get back on my laptop for that ‘just one more thing’, because I have worked so strongly and efficiently I know I’ve showed up and done my best.
  5. I showed up and did my best.
  6. Moving the fucking needle (MTN). Every day.

Try it, let me know how you go. Also if you’re unsure about how to block your time, download my ‘buy more time’ ebook here.

Let me know how you go beauties, and go move mountains.

C x.
